What Is EMDR Intensive Consultation—and When Is It Useful?
EMDR intensive consultation is professional support for EMDR-trained therapists developing, delivering, or refining therapy in extended sessions or concentrated blocks of time. It can address clinical questions, the structure of an intensive offering, and the practical systems that make that offering possible.
You may already feel comfortable using EMDR. The questions change when you begin considering a half-day, a full day, or several consecutive treatment days. How will you decide who fits? What happens before the intensive? How will you collaborate with a primary therapist? How will the work fit within your capacity?
These are the kinds of questions we can bring into consultation.
Clinical depth and practice design belong in the same conversation
An intensive model contains many connected decisions. The population you work with influences preparation. Preparation influences scheduling. The time you reserve for assessment, documentation, and collaboration influences your fee and availability.
It can be difficult to make these decisions in isolation. You might create a beautiful webpage before clarifying your screening process, or choose a schedule before considering how you work best across a full clinical day.
Consultation provides a place to examine those connections. We can consider your clinical approach alongside the experience you are creating for clients and the realities of running your practice.
You can bring an emerging idea or an existing offering
Some therapists arrive with a question: “Could intensive work fit my practice?” Others already offer extended sessions and want a more coherent model. Still others have an intensive offering but need help with a particular case, a recurring operational problem, or messaging that does not accurately describe their work.
Useful starting material might include a draft schedule, an intake form, your current website copy, or a de-identified clinical question. You do not need to arrive with everything organized. Identifying what most needs attention is part of the work.
Individual consultation and a cohort serve different needs
My individual intensive consultation begins with a two-hour deep dive. Follow-up work is available in half-day or full-day sessions, giving us focused time for your specific model, materials, and questions. Consultation is available virtually or in person in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Designing + Launching EMDR Intensives is a three-month online consultation and implementation cohort. It combines eight hours of group consultation, a two-hour deep dive session, and templates. The small-group format offers a shared sequence for developing your offering alongside colleagues.
Both options support thoughtful implementation. Your choice may depend on whether you want concentrated individual attention or a longer period of building within a learning community.
Begin with a question that matters to your practice
A useful consultation goal is specific enough to guide the work: “I want to design a first half-day offering,” “I need to refine preparation and follow-up,” or “I want help reviewing the model I already use.”
From there, we can identify the decisions, resources, and further learning your next step requires.

Frequently asked questions
Who is EMDR intensive consultation for?
It is for experienced EMDR therapists who want support developing or refining extended-session or multi-day work. My group cohort has additional experience requirements listed on its program page.
Can consultation include practice materials?
Yes. My individual consultation can include reviewing intake materials, workbooks, and marketing. The group cohort includes templates to adapt to your own offering.
Is intensive consultation the same as EMDR certification consultation?
They have different goals. Intensive consultation focuses on intensive clinical work and implementation. Certification consultation is organized around developing EMDR competency toward the certification process. Do I need to have my intensive model finished before reaching out?
No. You can bring an emerging idea, a partially developed offering, or an existing model you want to refine.
